This Photo-Geograpic Adventure focuses on some of the most difficult and exciting photographic subjects - architectural, "street," and cultural photography.
Southwest Odyssey Tours' professional instructors will focus on the techniques required to capture the depth, detail, and beauty of Tucson's most historic landmarks. As a special treat, we will stop at the El Tiradito Shrine. Legend has it that El Tiradito is the only Catholic shrine dedicated to a sinner. The story claims that he died fighting for the love of a woman, and to this day visitors often light candles for the man, hoping to free his soul from eternal damnation. To add to the shrine's character, people often leave notes in the cracks of the adobe walls surrounding the shrine. While we are not sure of the legend's accuracy, the shrine is truly a unique site to behold and photograph! After exploring other interesting addresses, the adventure continues at Tucson's best kept museum secret -- The La Pilita Museum. Here you will discover Tucson from its prehistoric past to its lively and colorful present.
