Capture the history of Tucson and discover your unique creative vision during this full-day Photo-Geographic Adventure!
First, explore Tucson's historic downtown area where the streets, architecture, and landmarks present an intriguing photographic challenge. Professional photographer/instructor will give you hands-on field instruction on how to get the most out of your equipment and bring your own personal style to the photograph. In Presidio Park, located in the heart of Tucson, discover how the former Spanish fortress dating back to 1775 became one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Tucson with it's broad spectrum of architectural styles, memorials, and the old courthouse. Next a visit to the Etherton Gallery to view vintage, traditional, and contemporary digital fine art completes the first half of the day. After lunch at a downtown restaurant prepare for an exclusive look at creative photography as you go behind the scenes at the Center for Creative Photography at the University of Arizona. A guided tour of the main galleries exhibits then a private print viewing of Masterworks by some of the most renowned names in photographic history are highlights of our visit to the Center. Then we head south to the Tohono O'odham Nation and the San Javier del Bac Mission, an incredible Baroque-Rococo masterpiece known as the "White Dove of the Desert." There you will explore the mission's magnificent interior and exterior spaces to prepare for the perfect sunset shot. Throughout the day we will focus on key skills applicable to all experience levels. Your instructor/guide will give special emphasis to personal safety while shooting, camera/lens settings & maintenance, photo composition, reading histograms and exposure bracketing plus explore advanced techniques and tricks.
